Hello, My name is Sabrina and I started Bri's Bling for my daughters. Both of my girls wear hearing aids, while my oldest has her ears pierced my youngest doesn't but she wanted pretty earrings like her sister. I started looking things up and saw how much hearing aid charms were and knew i could make them as i couldn't afford to buy them along with all of the medical costs. My oldest daughter is 14, she loves to sing and dance and hasn't let her hearing loss slow her down at all. My youngest is 6 years old and has been through a lot. She will have her 15th surgery this year. When i was pregnant with her we were so excited as we tried for a lot of years to have our second child. The day she was born was one of the happiest. One thing that did happen that day that was a little scary was we found out she failed her hearing test. We knew just by looking at her that her jaw was too small and were told not to worry. Well, at 2 weeks old the Dr.'s saw what we saw and were sent 3 hrs to a speciality hospital where they worked to save her life. My oldest child and husband were at home for most of that, coming up for visits on the weekend for a large part of the 2 month stay, but i stayed there with her. After her first surgery, we found out my genetic condition, which I happened to pass to both my kids. Life has never been the same, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. My children have already been through a lot in their lives and they will continue to face future surgeries and challenges. When I researched about deaf culture, i learned how proud Deaf and hard of hearing people can be. Another thing i learned was how important sign language is which is why I have the I Love You collection which has the ASL (American Sign Language) sign for I love you charm. My hope with this site is to have every person chose, if they want an earring or hearing aid charm, so my pictures show them without the fish hook earrings and that is why. I want to keep the cost as affordable as possible and I plan to use any money earned from this to help pay our medical expenses.
